Strengthening the Public-Private Partnership

Strengthening the Public-Private Partnership

Cybersecurity is an issue that touches all industries and all levels of government, and a breach in one entity risks the security of all the others. As such, effective and efficient cooperation between all these entities is crucial to ensure our collective defense.

Effective partnership between the public and the private sectors requires improved threat intelligence sharing, clear national reporting requirements, strong data security requirements, and open dialogue between the federal government and private entities.

The NTSC has taken actions to strengthen the public-private partnership. Most notably, the NTSC spearheaded the creation of the CISA Cybersecurity Advisory Committee (CSAC), a body chaired by industry experts which advises CISA on cyber policy. The NTSC also continues to bring together public and private sector stakeholders during events, encourage federal agencies to engage in partnerships, and meet with members of Congress to endorse legislation that assists enables a strong public-private partnership.
