NTSC Founding Board Member Marc Varner Named to the 2017 Top 100 CISO Globally

Wednesday, March 22, 2017

ATLANTA, GA (March, 22, 2017) - Marc Varner, Global CISO of McDonald's was named to the 2017 Top 100 CISO Globally by Hot Topics. He was selected from a large pool of nominees narrowed down by a panel of information security experts.

“I’m delighted to see Marc recognized on such a distinguished list of global CISOs,” said Patrick Gaul, Executive Director of the National Technology Security Coalition. “As cybersecurity becomes more important to organizations and CISOs increasingly need supportive policy in Washington to help their efforts, these are the types of leaders the NTSC needs—and relies on—to help us formulate the voice of the CISO on the Hill.”

According to Hot Topics (in partnership with F5 Networks), the criteria for inclusion on the Top 1000 CISO takes into account an executive’s understanding of “wider business goals, strategy and the potential security risks associated to them” along with their use of data, influence within the organization, public image, and global experience.
