TransUnion CISO Jasper Ossentjuk Joins NTSC Board of Directors

ATLANTA, GA (January 31, 2018) – Jasper Ossentjuk, CISO for TransUnion, has been appointed to serve on the National Technology Security Coalition’s (NTSC) Board of Directors. Representing the credit reporting industry, Ossentjuk will help influence the strategic direction of the NTSC and join CISOs who represent a broad cross-section of enterprise companies. These CISOs have a vested interest in protecting the security of their customers and employees through policies that improve national cybersecurity standards and awareness.

“The scope of my CISO roles at TransUnion and HSBC have taught me great lessons about how cybersecurity laws and policies affect how corporations effectively protect consumer information,” said Ossentjuk. “Because such laws and policies carry great weight and have wide ripple effects on American businesses, they need to be created sensibly. By working with my CISO peers across various industries through the NTSC, I look forward to adding my voice to the national dialogue about cybersecurity policy that both helps CISOs do their job protecting consumers and national security.”

Joining TransUnion in 2014 as its SVP and Global Chief Information Security Officer, Ossentjuk has 21 years of experience as an IT and information security leader. He leads information security for TransUnion across 30+ countries, and he and his teams are responsible for protecting over a billion consumer files and 50+ petabytes of data. Previously, Ossentjuk was a technology and security leader at HSBC where he served as the CISO for North America and later as CISO for HSBC’s Global Retail Banking business overseeing the security for 50 million customers, 6000 branches, and 28,000 ATMs.

“As a CISO, Jasper has a successful track record overseeing information security in roles that come with the enormous responsibility of protecting the personal and financial information of millions of consumers,” said Patrick Gaul, Executive Director of the NTSC. “On a deep level, he understands our mission to advocate for and help lawmakers craft cybersecurity legislation that reflects the input of CISOs and their need to manage ever-changing cyber risks.By joining our board, Jasper adds an important voice and unique insights from his experience with TransUnion and HSBC.”

The NTSC provides a platform for CISOs to advocate for beneficial legislative and regulatory policies. We encourage dialogue about cybersecurity issues, laws, and regulations through advocacy engagement with congressional members, regional CISO policy roundtables, our annual DC Fly-In, and our National CISO Policy Conference.

Jasper joins a prestigious board of CISOs from leading companies including Aaron’s, Aetna, Aflac, AutoNation, Cox Automotive, Dollar Tree, Discover Financial Services, Ellie Mae, Hewlett Packard Enterprise Services, Huntington National Bank, IAC/InterActiveCorp, Johnson & Johnson, Jones Day, MasterCard, Motorola Mobility, Ohio State University, NCR, Synovus, TaxSlayer, Torchmark Corporation, Turner, United Airlines, US Bank, Voya Financial and Worldpay.
