NTSC to Host Cybersecurity Panel at Global CISO Forum

ATLANTA, GA (September 12, 2016) – The National Technology Security Coalition (NTSC) will host a panel discussion on cybersecurity policy at the annual Global CISO Forum on Friday, September 16 at the Crowne Plaza Atlanta Perimeter At Ravinia hotel.

The National Technology Security Coalition (NTSC) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that will drive the national dialogue on technology security in the United States. The primary objective for NTSC is to effectively forge a coalition of Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and technology security stakeholders to advocate on regulatory and legislative policies that impact the industry.

Tino Mantella, NTSC President, will moderate a panel discussion with current CISOs to discuss current legislative policies which are an impediment to the cybersecurity industry. The panel will also discuss how CISOs can shape regulations to be beneficial to the industry.

The panelists are Pete Chronis, Chief Information Security Officer at Turner; Julie Talbot-Hubbard, SVP Head of Information Security Operations at SunTrust; and Taiye Lambo, Chief Technology Officer of CloudeAssurance.

The objectives of the panel are to identify critical legislative and regulatory issues impacting the technology security industry, and enhance audience understanding of how the creation of common legislative goals by a stakeholder community can influence policy, particularly in the case of cybersecurity policy.

“It’s an honor that NTSC was selected to present a panel for the Global CISO Forum,” said Mantella. “This invitation-only executive forum is one of the premiere CISO events in the country, and this panel will not only encourage dialogue on policy issues within an important group of stakeholders, but will also allow us to form a unifying voice that will lend itself to government advocacy.”

The panelists will each respond to individual questions, in addition to panel-wide discussion questions. Chronis, NTSC board member, will discuss his views on current data breach notification legislation and recommendations for further legislation at both federal and state levels. Talbot-Hubbard will discuss cybersecurity information sharing legislation and the expansion of Information Sharing and Analysis Centers (ISACS). Lambo, the 2015 Global CISO Forum keynote speaker, will discuss the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ recent decision regarding ransomware infections and the impact on Health Delivery Organizations (HDOS). All three panelists will discuss the privacy versus security debate, people-centered security, and their recommendations for how to drive cultural change on an organizational level.

“Data breach notification laws are at the forefront of current cybersecurity policy debates,” said Turner’s CISO and NTSC board member, Pete Chronis. “Understanding current regulation is key to understanding the challenges these regulations pose for the technology security industry as a whole. I’m excited to have a platform to advocate for the industry when it comes to these issues.”
