NTSC Supports CISA Leadership and Applauds Efforts of Director Christopher Krebs

Friday, November 13, 2020

ATLANTA, GA (November 13, 2020) – The National Technology Security Coalition (NTSC) supports the leadership of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, and applauds the efforts of Director Christopher Krebs in helping strengthen the public-private partnership and our collective cyber defense as a nation.

“CISOs cannot do their jobs alone, and we require a strong partnership with the federal government,” said Tim Callahan, Chair of the NTSC Board of Directors. “In the past, it’s safe to say that this partnership was not as strong as we would have liked, with distrust on both sides. That relationship has improved dramatically, in large part thanks to Chris Krebs and his team at CISA. His efforts to reach out to CISOs, bring our voice to the table, and work with us to better protect our nation’s critical infrastructure cannot be overstated. We appreciate this support of the NTSC and look forward to working with him and his team in 2021.”

“As cybersecurity threats grow more sophisticated, they affect our economy, our critical infrastructure, and our national security,” said Patrick Gaul, Executive Director of the NTSC. “Combatting these threats requires a strong public-private partnership that was not as strong before Chris began his tenure at CISA. During the past two years, Chris has enthusiastically reached out to CISOs and the private sector to improve the dialogue between the public and private sectors. As a result, CISA has become a more prominent partner with many CISOs and private sector companies across the nation, and they’ve focused on the most critical cyber threats—from ransomware to nation state attacks. I applaud Chris’s leadership and support of the NTSC, and I look forward to working with him in 2021.”
