NTSC Board Chair, Tim Callahan, Wins SC Awards 2017 CSO of the Year

National Technology Security Coalition (NTSC) Board Chair Tim Callahan won the SC Awards 2017 CSO of the Year Award on February 14, 2017 in San Francisco. Recognized for his work as SVP of Global Security and global chief security officer at Aflac, Callahan won in a category including finalists that represented Jackson Health System, AECOM, Zuora, and Comcast Cable.

“I’m happy, and not surprised, to see Tim Callahan win in this category,” said Patrick Gaul, Executive Director of the NTSC. “As we continue to assemble our ever-growing board of CISOs to help us advocate for policies that improve national cybersecurity standards and awareness, the NTSC is grateful to have such a distinguished security executive help us lead the charge.”

The NTSC Board of Directors embodies a broad cross-section of enterprise companies who have a vested interest in protecting the security of their customers and their employees. NTSC's board influences the strategic direction of the organization, participates in CISO roundtable discussions to discuss policy, and attends events such as our D.C. Fly-Ins to meet with policymakers on Capitol Hill.

In his role at Aflac, Callahan is responsible for the Aflac Information Security Program, which includes Threat and Vulnerability Management, Security Operations and Incident Response, Information Governance, Technology Compliance and Risk Management, Security Engineering, Business Resiliency, and Disaster Recovery. Through the execution of the security program, Callahan is the executive responsible for the protection and availability of Aflac’s information assets.
