Microsoft Global IT Security Executive Ben Hendrick Joins the National Technology Security Coalition’s Advisory Council

ATLANTA, GA (February 14, 2019) – Ben Hendrick, a global IT security executive responsible for architecture at Microsoft for the Global Secure Infrastructure (SI) Domain, has joined the National Technology Security Coalition’s (NTSC) Advisory Council. The NTSC Advisory Council serves as a forum for national cybersecurity policy leaders, technology executives, and vendor companies to discuss national policy issues that impact their ability to conduct business. They also help guide the NTSC Board’s involvement with advocacy initiatives.
“Working with CISOs has been a part of my role at major technology companies over the past few years, and I’ve heard major concerns about legislation and regulations that impact security at companies,” said Hendrick. “While Microsoft actively supports many national cybersecurity policy initiatives that will positively impact the security industry if implemented and pursued, we recognize it’s also important to have the voices of CISOs heard as part of the mix. CISOs provide another credible voice that will help us when talking to lawmakers in Washington D.C. That’s why Microsoft is looking forward to supporting the NTSC’s mission of serving as the advocacy voice for CISOs, and why I look forward to helping the NTSC in 2019 through my direct participation on its Advisory Council.”
As a Global Chief Architect at Microsoft, Hendrick reports to the CTO and is responsible for Microsoft Services within the Secure Infrastructure Domain. A veteran of 25 years in the information technology sector, Hendrick has significant experience in building and leading consulting, IT services, and security organizations focused on selling and delivering quality services for global clients. Before Microsoft, Hendrick served as Global Executive & IBM Security Partner responsible for leading and directing IBM Security’s Consulting & Systems Integration (C&SI) Infrastructure & Endpoint Security (IES) competency—one of six competencies globally that make up the C&SI portfolio of security services sold and delivered to IBM clients. He also spent time at Dell as Managing Director of Consulting & Systems Integration (C&SI) Global Delivery where his Enterprise Systems & Networking (ES&N) team of 350 Dell badge Consultants and 200 contractors provided pre-sales and delivery team responsibilities.

The NTSC Advisory Council plays a key role in driving the national dialogue in respect to promoting the development of technology security solutions and policies. The Advisory Council serves as the ombudsman helping to connect the NTSC Board of Directors to relevant service providers, sponsors, policy experts, educators, practitioners, security authorities, and other stakeholders. Through its expertise and guidance, the Advisory Council supports the advancement of the NTSC and helps assure that the organization achieves its mission.
