Major General Patricia Frost Joins the National Technology Security Coalition’s Advisory Council

ATLANTA, GA (January 8, 2019) – Major General Patricia Frost, former Director of Cyber, Electronic Warfare and Information Operations, for the US Army, has joined the National Technology Security Coalition’s (NTSC) Advisory Council. The NTSC Advisory Council serves as a forum for national cybersecurity policy leaders, technology executives, and vendor companies to discuss national policy issues that impact their ability to conduct business. They also help guide the NTSC Board’s involvement with advocacy initiatives.
“After serving for 32 years in the US Army, I’ve seen up close the evolution of cybersecurity as it relates to national security,” said General Frost. “In my roles as Director of Cyber for Electronic Warfare and Information Operations and as Deputy Commanding General for US Army Cyber Command, I witnessed an incredible need for a positive public-private partnership that both helps companies and protects our country. The National Technology Security Coalition is a rare and necessary organization that seeks to create much-needed dialogue about cybersecurity between the public and private sector. I am honored to contribute my expertise as a part of the NTSC Advisory Council to help improve national cybersecurity standards through a stronger public-private partnership.”
General Frost is President of Patricia Frost & Associates, an executive management consulting firm focused on leadership, government relations, and strategic communication, and also serves as Director of Cyber at Partners in Performance, America. There, she manages operational risk in the cyber domain for industry partners, coaches cyber operational readiness for corporate leaders, and leads organizational behavioral change to increase cyber resiliency. She also serves as Senior Advisor at the Thayer Leader Development Group, which helps C-level teams take charge of their own leadership, deliberately shape their organization's culture, and creatively tackle their business challenges.
Her most recent duty assignment prior to retiring from active duty service in 2018 was as the first Director of Cyber, Electronic Warfare and Information Operations for the Department of the Army. There she led the Army’s development of strategy, policy, and the budget ($3 billion) for these critical disciplines. In this capacity, she also led the Army’s efforts to cyber harden its most critical weapons systems; built an operational cyber resiliency program for the Army’s installations as the internet of things evolved; and led the planning and development of the U.S. Department of Defense Persistent Cyber Training Environment.
“In her most recent roles with the US Army, General Frost saw firsthand some of the most severe and critical threats facing the United States,” said Patrick Gaul, Executive Director of the NTSC. “These threats cannot be combated in silos and instead require a strong public-private partnership that the NTSC wishes to continue fostering in 2019. General Frost will bring invaluable insights, expertise, and knowledge about the workings of the federal government in its relation to the private sector that will help us with our ongoing discussions in Washington D.C. The NTSC Advisory Council plays a key role in driving the national dialogue in respect to promoting the development of technology security solutions and policies. The Advisory Council serves as the ombudsman helping to connect the NTSC Board of Directors to relevant service providers, sponsors, policy experts, educators, practitioners, security authorities, and other stakeholders. Through its expertise and guidance, the Advisory Council supports the advancement of the NTSC and helps assure that the organization achieves its mission.
