Juniper Networks’ CTO Bikash Koley to Speak on Multicloud and the Impact on Public Policy and Legislation at NTSC National CISO Policy Conference

Friday, June 8, 2018

ATLANTA, GA (June 8, 2018) – Juniper Networks CTO, Bikash Koley, will speak about the topic of multicloud and its impact on public policy and legislation at the second annual NTSC National CISO Policy Conference on July 17, 2018, in Washington D.C. With Koley’s many years of large-scale cloud infrastructure experience at Google, along with his current expertise in solving significant multicloud problems with Juniper Networks, his talk will educate policymakers about this exciting and challenging new area.

“As a rapidly evolving area of cloud computing that businesses are quickly embracing, multicloud also creates implications for cybersecurity laws, policies and regulations that may affect this technological adoption,” said Koley. “While multicloud may mitigate business risks and offer more agility for organizations, many cybersecurity questions emerge around the use of multiple cloud vendors, an organization’s security posture and governance. I am looking forward to addressing these and many more multicloud questions during my conversation with policymakers at the upcoming NTSC National CISO Policy Conference.”

As Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Juniper Networks, Koley is responsible for charting Juniper's technology strategy and for leading and executing the company’s critical technology innovations. He is recognized as an industry-leading expert in software-defined networking (SDN), intent-driven networking, packet-optical integration, warehouse-scale computing and large-scale data center interconnection. Koley joined Juniper from Google, where he was a Distinguished Engineer and the Head of Network Architecture, Engineering and Planning. Throughout his career, he has published many research papers and received 18 patents related to networking technologies.

“Bikash’s talk about multicloud’s impact on cybersecurity policy and legislation is a perfect example of how the NTSC brings issues important to CISOs in front of lawmakers and policymakers in Washington, D.C.,” said Patrick Gaul, Executive Director of the NTSC. “As organizations grapple with multicloud, CISOs need to stay on top of current and proposed legislation that may affect its adoption, innovation and security. I am looking forward to the conversation that Bikash’s talk will spur among CISOs, technology executives and policymakers during July’s NTSC National CISO Policy Conference.”

Koley will join a lineup of speakers and panelists including CISOs, cybersecurity policy experts, elected officials and government agency executive leaders. Keynotes and panel discussions will cover public-private intelligence information sharing, national cybersecurity deterrence strategies, data privacy and security regulations, cybersecurity education and workforce development, artificial intelligence and machine learning and automation and big data. As a networking industry spokesperson, Koley’s insights and observations can be found on Twitter @bikashkoley73 and the Juniper Networks’ blog.
