Ellie Mae’s CSO Selim Aissi Joins NTSC Board of Directors as a Founding Board Member

ATLANTA (August 29, 2016) – The National Technology Security Coalition (NTSC) announced Selim Aissi, Chief Security Officer for Ellie Mae, has been appointed to serve on the NTSC Board of Directors as a Founding Board Member.

The National Technology Security Coalition (NTSC) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that will drive the national dialogue on technology security in the United States. The mission of NTSC is to effectively forge a coalition of information security stakeholders to help reverse the accelerating pace of disruption to our nation’s information systems.

NTSC’s primary initiative will be advocating on regulatory and legislative policies that impact the technology security industry. Also, NTSC will drive the national dialogue by conducting educational thought-exchange forums, and delivering professional development programs to equip members with innovative cybersecurity solutions.

“Selim Aissi has extensive knowledge on the implications of how regulatory policies, such as the principles and standards defined by the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC), Federal Reserve Board of Governors (FRB), the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB),” stated Tino Mantella, NTSC President and CEO. “With his experience in creating and spearheading global information security programs at financial institutions such as Ellie Mae and Visa, Selim will bring a unique and critical perspective as NTSC unites Chief Information Security Officers and other industry and government stakeholders nationwide around policy standards for cybersecurity.”

Selim Aissi is a prominent Cybersecurity leader and executive and one of the nation’s top Cybersecurity Innovators who filed over 100 security-related patents across financial, consumer-product, data-center, data-analytics, and embedded safety-critical systems. He has also served on the Board of Directors of some of the most successful security-focused Venture Capital and startups firms.

As Ellie Mae’s Chief Security Officer, he is responsible for the company’s overall strategy, security engineering, operations, governance, risk, compliance, disaster recovery, and business continuity. Before joining Ellie Mae, Selim was recognized for leading several large-scale, company-wide, security initiatives at Visa, including ApplePay, Visa Checkout, Visa’s Mobile Payment, and Data Protection

Programs as Visa’s Global Vice President of Information Security. Previously, Selim has held senior technology and management roles at Intel for over 11 years. In addition to his cybersecurity expertise, Selim received his PhD in engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He has held several senior engineering positions at General Dynamics, General Motors and Applied Dynamics International.

Selim Aissi is the first CISO from the west coast and from a financial institution to join the NTSC board of directors. He joined a prestigious board of CISOs from leading companies such as Aflac, Autonation, HD Supply, Signet Jewelers, State of Georgia, Synovus, and Turner Broadcasting. The NTSC Board of Directors’ second meeting will be in December at Atlanta, GA.
